I was just curious..what do you guys think of people getting reiki treatments as a reduction for stress on any level? If you've experienced getting a treatment, was it certain parts of your body or a full body one? How did you feel after, like..did it help?

Sai Ram. It is very relaxing, esp. when hands on treatment is given by a loved partner or by yourself, with a relaxing musical tape playing along. I used to go to sleep before the tape ran out!

When a person's stress level hits the highest , there chakras which are energy centers in the body are misaligned. Reiki realigns the chakras when doing a full body treatment, mini treatments have been done such as a ailment knee, headache, or pain anywhere, then the universal life force energies go to work , we are a tool using very special positive energies that were given to us through an attunement through a qualified reiki master. Stress causes many diseases that have not been properly addressed. The stress has gotten out of hand, reiki energy is positive energy thus moving out the negative energy from your body . It is a feeling of wellness, and well being , also a very calming feeling . Many of my people who have had a treatment have looked years younger . Alot of the time stress gets caught in the solar plexus energy center, alot of people have a hard time releaseing from that area. That is where emotions are kept and sometimes very hard to release as they have been caught there awhile. Reiki has helped many many people, hospitals now know that reiki is beneficial to there patients, however not all hospitals will allow it . Since it was rediscovered in the 1800's , more and more people are now understanding and acknowledgeing the truly remarkable healings of universal energy. When you receive a reiki treatment it doesn't stop it continues healing . All healings are done for the healing of the clients greater good. Many a sceptic have been changed after a treatment , they are believers. I not only give treatments i also teach reiki. Reiki is truly remarkable for stress. When you have no stress, which in today 's time is hard, you can combat disease before it strikes. Sad to say but most comes from stress

Reiki has been designated as Stress reduction and Pain Management by the NIH. It is NOT something that can replace your medication however it does help a person to relax.

I work on many many people doing Reiki doing health fairs and events all over town for huge companies and Major College/Universities campus's that are looking for a way to keep their people/students healthy at at work. Reiki seems to be a great tool for students that are stressed out about a test. They seem to get their minds back.

I also have been teaching Reiki since 1995 at a Local Community College for Nurses Cont. Ed. Credits. And Doing Free Reiki at the Cancer Therapy Research Center aka CTRC.

Reiki is an excellent treatment for stress. I am a Master teacher of Reiki and I treat many people for stress and high blood pressure, insomnia and many other conditions. I receive treatments myself and have found it extremely beneficial.

In fact I have a neighbor who has had strokes in the past due to high blood pressure and is under medical treatment and taking blood pressure medication.

On occasion her medication will fail her and her blood pressure will spike into stroke range. When this happens she calls me and the ambulance. With the Reiki her blood pressure has stopped to healthy levels every time before the ambulance can arrive.

When I am not home to help her, every time she has had to transport to the emergency room for lots of drugs to get her to healthy range. This has been ongoing for 7 years and the results have been consistent.

I would never recommend foregoing medical supervision. Of course this is a serious condition that must be monitored by your doctor but I suggest trying Reiki on a weekly basis for a couple of months and have your doctor track your blood pressure carefully. If you are interested in trying to wean off your medication, do so very slowly and carefully and under the supervision of your doctor.

A regimen of Reiki added to improvements in your diet and exercise plan will certainly not hurt your blood pressure and is very likely to help.

Wonderful! Reiki will make you feel good both emotionally and physically. I cannot even describe it since Reiki is usually a hands off procedure. It is about the connection you have with the Master and your breathing. The Master will guide you.

I have had a full body and partial. The partials involved just working on my head and upper areas for when I suffered from headaches/migraines. Full body ones were entirely meant for relaxation and general healing. I really think you will be open to this.

Reiki is a form of healing using the energy of self pulled through the Reiki practitioners hands. I am a Reiki/Tri Aur Master and have seen many receive great release from stress, using REIKI.

The two things to keep in mind when using any healing tool, is that the symbols are words that instruct the provider of the service, they are not magic. The provider does not use his or her energy, the energy pulled through the palm of their hands is YOURS. Therefore it is like getting a kick start from your own positive energy that is able to by pass your mental stress. That in a nut shell is how it works. You are able to give your self an attunement, all you have to do is learn how energy flows and how to by pass the clogged streams to release your energy flow......all energy is positive...it is our own mind set that clogs it sometime. Let the positive life source energy flow through you and find your JOY.....all is well. sand.d@cox.net

I've had reiki, several times, and felt amazing afterward; the qualities lasted for several days. I am careful about choosing practitioners as you are participating in an energetic exchange.

It may help you to relax, but that is it. Healing, no.

The American Medical Massage Association has issued a statement that they do not accept or recommend Reiki and other such "fringe massage therapies", and that some of these therapies "constitute health care fraud".

"Neither the existence of ki nor any mechanism for its manipulation are scientifically proven, and a systematic review of randomized clinical trials conducted in 2008 did not support the efficacy of reiki or its recommendation for use in the treatment of any condition"
