I personally do not and cannot take any painkillers. I go for the all natural cure... honestly our body is made up of carbon based compounds so i prefer something of that nature and not something that is chemically created...

Although natural medicines are normally safer and with less side effects taken in moderation, taking too much of anything might be harmful & toxic to your system even natural substances. Generally, I believe natural is better. However, neither alternative nor orthodox medicine will cure all i.e. depression, cancer, hiv and other conditions should be treated with an open mind and take what is necessary that would help the patient most. I know of a case where a particular patient was resistant to orthodox medicine and wouldn't even take aspirin or ibuprofen. She tried all sorts of alternative treatments to depression and certain things worked like acupuncture, St. John's Wort, vitamins, diet, exercise, therapy and a healthy lifestyle. It worked to a certain extent; but, she would still have bouts of depression which led to problems affecting her life, especially in the areas of her career and her relationships -- leading to suicidal thoughts (which is common for people with depression). So, after many many years of resistance & frustration, she finally broke down and decided on anti-depressants. She hasn't been happier and in better spirits in all her life she claims. Don't get me wrong, I don't advocate taking any on-going medications lightly. But when a life depends on it, it's important to do what's best to sustain it and be able to live it happily. This might not be what you want to hear, but I'm advocating an open-mind to what works best for the person who's struggling and in pain, be it using any of sort alternative or orthodox medicines.

it doesnt matter where it came from. they are both foreign compounds and "natural" cures are no more natural to your body than a lab created drug. some are good, some are bad in each case. and most drugs are predominatly carbon based.
what matters is how the drug interacts with your body. there are many natural products that have nasty side effects too. lab created drugs have years of reasearch and scrutiny behind them, and any idiot can marekt a "natural product" and put it in a bottle and sell it at walmart. like at ephedra, that was all natural and it was giving people heart attacks and was pulled from the market a couple years ago. cigarettes are also a natural product. often times natural medicines are safer only because they dont work and dont do anything, if they actually worked as well they would have just as many dangers as lab created drugs.
but pain meds are over prescribed, so if youre taking a natural med over a prescription med like vicodin, then good for you. over the counter stuff like tylenol and ibuprofen is very safe though if used as directed.

You are wrong . The body is made of chemicals both organic and inorganic. Natural cure is possible with limitations. We are only helping the body to get it cured naturally but by helping it with medicines which is almost all are in chemical in nature. So you have to take the medicines whenever and wherever indicated by the doctor in proper form , dose , route etc. All ways follow the doctor's advice in Toto.

Even natural ingredients can cause problems. So, check out and take the medicines under proper supervision and if you experience any side effects, get in touch with the doctor.

Definitely natural ingredients.
900,000 people died last year from taking too much prescription and non-prescription drugs.
I think people need to do better research on these natural remedies before opening their mouth. For someone to say that natural remedies have been underresearched...wow, that's a very ignorant statement. People have been using these natural remedies for more than thousand years. Our precription drugs are newly man-made chemicals with many side-effects.

Most if not all medicines originate from plants of some sort. Aspirin is from the bark of a tree. Penicillin is from mold, etc.

So
Carbon based compounds r not "chemicals"
Whether u r awre or not
whether u accept or not
alternative medicines are UNDERRESEARCHED.
"there are NO" side effects because, not enough takers were observed.

Most medicines are either from plants or synthesized versions of the active ingredients.
