... would walking barefoot be like a full-body massage? I sure doesn't feel like it.

The Japanese make paths full of pebbles to walk on, and there are more of those also in the Western world, but I've never walked on one of those or on the mats they make for indoor use, all the different surfaces I walk on already stimulate many parts of my feet and I'm not sure about the benefits of walking on those trails when you're already barefoot a lot normally. It seemed to me it's more for folks who don't go barefoot in regular life.
I do believe walking barefoot is very healthy in many ways. It is good for your posture, balance and for your feet themselves.

Reflexology is not comparable to massage. The feet, hands and ears all have areas connected to the major meridians in the body and are conducive to pressure applied to them.
We are still quadrupeds and the hands are as sensitive as the feet.
It is actually very "healthy" to go barefoot which is pretty impossible to do nowadays. One reason people love the beach and walking barefoot in the sand. It "enlivens" the whole body.

there is lots more to reflexology than walking around barefoot :) too much to type here, but if your interested about it, they have a reflexology dvd that you can rent from netflix...it's the same one we use at my school for our holistic health practitioner program :)
and yes it works, many of my clients request it :)

Not necessarily, due to the fact that there are other pressure points on the sides and the top of the foot that need to be worked on. And yes, reflexology does work, I have clients that attest to it.

Its a load of crap, does it make sense that we would evolve into a biped from a quadraped and have our all our bodies functions accessed from our back feet? If it were true woudn't patients who have legs or feet amputated have major health issues? Its as valid as magnets and any other bogus quackery out there. All senses take place in the brain not the feet and though there are neurons in the feet, their purpose is to let you know you stepped on a nail or hot sand, not an access point for the lungs or spleen.
