How deep is the damage?



Aloe Vera is well known for its ability to speed up wound recovery as well as provide anti-inflammatory and soothing properties.



Plantain has some mild wound restoring properties, and also draws toxins out....its appropriate for a bee sting, but the effects are mild and are no replacement for antivenom.



Comfrey (Boneset) is one of the strongest stimulants of new tissue growth used in western herbalism. You can take small amounts internally for short periods of time (I would not recommend eating it as a vegetable like some people do, as it can stress the liver). Most people use it topically, either by applying the steamed leaves directly like a bandage or by making an extract and putting it into a salve with beeswax and oil +tincture or decoction.....one word of warning with comfrey....if the wound is deep, using comfrey can cause the top layer of skin to heal over the deeper part of the wound before the flesh heals...this is not desirable. For deep wounds use some of the more gentle and disinfecting herbs.



Yarrow is another amazing one that was used by natives and soldiers during the civil war. It will disinfect, reduce pain and also promote wound recovery. Its an amazing herb.



You can mix all of these together if you like.

Rosemary or sage. Specifically, it's the ursolic acid in the waxy coating of the leaves that stimulates healthy cell regeneration. It has been studied and is proven to work. It is a strong anti-inflammatory and is being studied for its anti-cancer properties on the skin.



If you buy products with rosemary extract, they must specifically mention urosolic acid on the label. Most extraction processes destroy the ursolic acid which makes it worthless.



I eat a lot of raw rosemary and make my own rosemary moisturizer. Take about a 1" piece of fresh rosemary, strip off the leaves and crush them. Barely warm up the crushed leaves with some unrefined shea butter on the stove for a few minutes and let it steep for 2 days. You can heat it back up to strain out the leaves if you prefer, but I don't. If you get the shea butter too hot it will destroy the ursolic acid. I put this on my face every morning.



My sister who is 12 years older than me uses it and everyone mistakes us for twins! She had sun damaged skin from being severely burned at least 20 times during childhood. She already had skin cancer and now it is completely gone.
