Well, Apple Cider Vinegar really shouldn't help for hot flashes.... it's a basic and simple cleanser. It can help a little for weight loss by cleansing out your system, but it has no direct hormonal benefits.
If you would want something for hormonal health (which could help hot flashes), there's Black Cohosh, Chasteberry (also called Vitex), Dong Quai, and Omega-6 fatty acids like those in Borage Oil or Evening Primrose Oil.
There are also some phytoestrogens (plant hormones) that may effect your hormones, but a nutritionist or holistic doctor would be the best to ask what would be the best type (as different people have different responses to different supplements).

Regular store bought ACV is fine. All ACV is much the same. Some of the ones in the major supermarkets such as Coles and Woolworths have flavouring agents in them such as honey to improve the taste but the ACV itself is still much the same as all the others.

To reap the full benefits you need to get organic, unfiltered brands with "The Mother" that's the sediment on the bottom of the bottle. Bragg's is a good brand also check Whole Foods stores.

Yes you can. I don't know about weight loss, but vinegar is a diuretic, and will cause your body to evacuate itself of fluids. It might be what they do for water retention. I think it's a good idea to drink water if you want to rid yourself of extra water, by encouraging your kidneys to do their job.
