Homeopathy is not a very old discipline, and it only began to see widespread acceptance in recent years, so I'm substituting "country" for "culture" in the answering of your question.

Homeopathy is common in Germany, Austria, France, Denmark, the U.K., Belgium, Switzerland and Luxembourg. It is used (by a smaller percentage of the population) in Canada, the U.S., Mexico, Colombia and Brazil. It is a popular practice in India, virtually unknown in China, and not common in Japan.

Homeopathy is practiced widely in Israel, and is gaining popularity in the U.A.E. and Iran. Nigeria is the only African country in which homeopathy is prevalent.

The practice of homeopathy was banned in Russia until the 1990s.

well, I think all cultures use homeopathic medicine. In my opinion Eastern cultures are probably much more advanced in this. I think that in the past a more basic form of it was just called Folk Remedies....and every culture definitely has a variety of those. For instance, when I was a child, my family lived in Ukraine and we relied much more on natural herbs and treatments. I think that the doctors there even suggested more holistic remedies for minor things first before prescribing drugs. My family lives in the U.S. now, and after being prescribed antibiotics by a dermatologist for my acne and ruining my health....only to learn that a more homeopathic approach could of saved me all the crap I went through(so glad I found a really good family doctor that likes the homeopathic approach), I'm pretty disappointed with doctors and how they feed people chemicals for really minor things. (I'm not against pharmaceuticals, they are necessary in some cases...I just thing that homeopathic medicine is a great preventative treatment and for other minor ailments~ sorry for my little side note). But yeah, in all areas of the world you'll find people who use homeopathic medicine.

check with your local planned parenthood or family planning. Most of them work on a sliding fee scale. You can sometimes qualify for low or no cost treatment.

Actually, most of them have some people that use Homeopathic medicines today. There are people all throughout North and South America, Europe, Africa, Asia, the Australian area, and many places in between. People exist in places all over the world that use Homeopathic medicines, but there aren't too many cultures where it is the predominant medicine... most cultures favor either herbs or drugs as their main medicines.

Homeopathy itself was just started in the 1800s, so it's not a historic thing like many herbs that were used in cultures for many years before they were exported. You can find a lot more information at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Homeopathy

Good luck and I hope I helped!

Many. Countries include India, Mexico, China and many more. Western medicine relies on modern medicine = drugs from doctors. I am a chronic sinus sufferer and I got so sick of my allergist wanting me to take drug after drug. While I have suffered for 8 years I found an alternative approach/product that in just 3 weeks, I am down to 1/4 of the medicine I used to take and it is allergy season. I can actually breathe and sleep without a stuffy nose.

What is Homeopathy?

Homeopathy is a system of medicine, which was founded by the German physician Dr. Hahnemann in 1790. Dr. Hahnemann was a very famous physician of the then dominant school of medicine. He was a successful practitioner, but deep within he was very troubled by the limited amount of useful medical knowledge of his times. He realized that, very ironically, the 'medical science' is not based on any fundamental scientific laws. And the theories on which the medicine of his time was based were vague and hypothetical. And the treatment often caused more harm than good. So he left his medical practice and started translation work instead.

While translating Cullen's Materia Medica, he decided to probe into the action of Cinchona bark, which was known to have curative power in malarial fevers. To do this, he took some extract of Cinchona bark himself. To his utter surprise, he soon developed symptoms similar to those of malaria. It occurred to him that Cinchona bark can cure malaria because it has the power to produce a similar state in a healthy human being. To test this idea further, he did similar experiments with various substances on himself and others. And he found all his experiments confirming his idea. And so he concluded that this is a general law and called it 'Similia Similibus Curantur' , i.e.; 'Like Cures Like' - the fundamental principle on which Homeopathy is based.

This law has been confirmed by thousands of people since then and has been found to be rock-solid.Dr. Hahnemann then further developed this idea, proved hundreds of new medicines, developed methods of preparation and administration of medicines and also gave many guidelines regarding health and disease, thus giving birth to a complete and new system of medicine. This was a strong foundation and a lot of work has gone into further development of Homeopathy in the past 200 years. The work and growth of Homeopathy is still going on and at a very rapid pace. And as the physical basis of this science is becoming clear, i's acceptance is growing in all ranks of society. It won't be wrong to say - 'The Future Belongs to Homeopathy."
